They write about us
This year we celebrate the 50th jubilee of the Chod Festival. You will be charmed with the traditional exhibition of folklore from the entire Chod region together with the performances by folk musicians and wide selection of folk art.
I firmly believe that the main organizer of the Chod Festival – the Culture Centre MKS Domažlice – has prepared an interesting programme and that the visitors will be satisfied.
Jan Látka, Mayor of Domažlice
The Chod Festival has been inseparably linked with the life in Domažlice for fifty years and has become one of the most important folk festivals in the Czech Republic.
The organizers invited not only all folk ensembles, musicians and personalities from the Chod region, but also guests from Prague, Plzeň, Horní Bříza, Slovakia and Hungary. We would like to introduce them to you in this publication.
I would like to wish the festival visitors and performers a nice stay in our town.
On behalf of the Culture Centre MKS Domažlice:
Mgr. Kamil Jindřich, manager MKS Domažlice
In the Christian tradition the pilgrimages and anniversaries became special occasions to ask for the blessing of God. Therefore let this year´s St. Laurence Fair and the fiftieth Chod Festival bring a real abundance of God’s gifts to those who come to Domažlice and to the St. Laurence Church on Veselá hora. Let these exceptional days bring joy to your heart and strengthen your spirit and soul.
P. Miroslaw Gierga, priest in Domažlice
